Jessica Lee Anderson
Jessica Lee Anderson is an award-winning author of over fifty books for kids including her latest Naomi Nash chapter book series from Capstone/Picture Window Books: Saving Snakes, The Mystery of the Ball Python, The Drama Noodle, and Problems at the Pond. She’s published fiction and nonfiction with publishers such as Scholastic, Milkweed Editions (winner of the Milkweed Prize for Children's Literature), Rourke Educational Media, Heinemann, Pearson, and a variety of magazines including Highlights for Children and Highlights High Five. Jessica graduated from Hollins University with a Master of Arts in Children’s Literature, and she previously taught at St. Edward’s University. She lives near Austin, Texas with her husband, daughter, and toothless rat terrier.
Janet Harvey
Janet Harvey is an award-winning writer of comic books, movies and games. As a comic book creator, she wrote the YALSA finalist Angel City for Oni Press,The Curie Society from MIT Press, and the first adventure of Cassandra Cain in No Man’s Land for DC Comics. As a game writer, she was the staff writer on the DC Universe Online MMORPG. Her feature film debut, A Million Hits, screened at festivals around the world and was distributed by Summer Hill Films.
Her current project is a YA graphic novel being developed in collaboration with Angel City illustrator Megan Levens.
Joe Khachadourian
Joe Khachadourian is a writer, concept creator, and graphic fiction evangelist living in Austin, Texas. Formerly an Executive Editor at MightyVille.com, Joe has contributed to various websites and periodicals over the years, along with a number of comic book anthologies, including IDW Publishing’s Transformers: Mosaic. A recipient of several awards in journalism and play-writing, Joe’s decided to make the dive into the world of creator-owned comics with Identity Stunt and Altered Metal, published by Markosia.
Leticia Urrieta
Leticia Urieta (she/her/hers) is a Tejana writer from Austin, TX. She is a teaching artist in the greater Austin community and is also a freelance writer. Her first comic, Thirteen Origins: Cloudbreak #1, co-created with artist and writer Verena Rodriguez, is out in July 2024 from Scout Comics.
Mari Mancusi
Mari Mancusi is an Emmy award winning former TV news producer and author of more than thirty sci-fi/fantasy books for kids, teens and adults. Her dragon apocalypse series, New Dragon City, is on the 24/25 Texas Bluebonnet State Reading List as well as the Florida Sunshine State reading list. It was also named by Reader's Digest as one of the top 100 children's books for all time. In addition, Mari writes tie-in novels for Disney properties including Frozen and the NYT Bestselling series "Twisted Tales." She has a Nightmare Before Christmas Twisted Tale being released this fall. In addition to writing, Mari is an avid cosplayer, horror fan, and MMORPG gamer. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and their young daughter.
P.J. Hoover
P. J. (Tricia) Hoover wanted to be a Jedi, but when that didn't work out, she became an electrical engineer instead. After a fifteen year bout designing computer chips for a living, P. J. started creating worlds of her own. She's the award-winning author of The Hidden Code, and Tut: The Story of My Immortal Life, featuring a fourteen-year-old King Tut who's stuck in middle school. Under the Connor Hoover pseudonym, she is also the author of the popular Pick Your Own Quest series, which are interactive adventures perfect for everyone. When not writing, P. J. loves spending time practicing kung fu, fixing things around the house, and solving Rubik's cubes.
